»— SOMEBKtELB SCHOOL COMMITTEE. At a masting o£ tho 'Somerfield School Committee there were present—Mr W. A. Britten (chairman), Mesdnrnea Taylor, le Mosnrier, and Good, "Messrs Collett. McIlray," Good, Garters, and Hutchiny* fsecretary). The headmaster reported that the average attendance was 575.2. The physical drill inspector's report showed that this; iai'jori ant branch of education was ,beiu£ carried out by the members of tho staff [•consistently and well. During tho month a euchre party and dance' wa3 held in tho. schcolroom.- . WESLEY GUILD. At the Edgewaro road 'Wesley Guild meeting on Saturday evening an addres3 was given hy the Rev. S. Lawry on "The Introduction of Christianity.into New Zealand," with epecial reference to Methodist effort 3. The speaker referred to the heroic pioneerin? work done by the ReV. 8. Leigh and other*, John Wesley esadd "Tho world was hi* parish," and while Leigh could not .*<' that, he could say Jfew, Zealand was his circuit, for. he was at liberty to .look alter all '• ivcw Zealand then, if he could', Methodisiically and spiritually.
