CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The third round of tie senior competition and eighth of the second and third grade contests was played on Saturday last. Most of the grounds need grass-cutting and rolling, but they are otherwise in fair order. Following are the positions of th? senior teams: — Matches j 1

Following are the results of the matchos played on Saturday:— SEXIO-R GRADE. SELV.TN (4) v. SYDENHAM (0). Halftime 'blew with no score, and play in midfield. On resuming, play was even for a spell. Barwick, the Christchurch right wing, made a tricky run and centred to who missed with the shot at goal. Ohrjstchurch rallied, _ and a scramble ensued in the Y.M.0.A.. circle, but poor ehooting lost all chances of scoring. Play was momentarily transferred to the Christchurch twenty-five, but Martin relieved, and play returned to Y.M.C.A. territory, Drayton having a busy time', but no score was registered. , Y.M.CA. made a, determined effort to score, end reached the Christchurch circle, where a scramble was in progre°si when the whistle blew, and thegame ended in a draw, witb no score. Technical made thepace fast from the start, and getting the ball from the bully went downfield and scored, 'Shier pushing the ball in from a scramble. Addmgton were again on the defensive, Technical attacking strongly. Luxton came out io stop the rush but wjfl beaten, and Barwick put the ball into _&n empty goal; Addington gradually gained the ascendancy, but poor shooting-spoiled several chances. Up and down play followed, Technical having the better of the exchanges. Oracle finally secured and added Teclinioal's third goal. Technical attacked from the bully and Steer* added a fourth goal.
