The Naval Appropriations Bill, which is about to be reported to the House of Representatives, totals approximately 305,000,000 dollars, a reduction of 33,0Q0,C00 dollars compared with last year. Members of the Naval Affairs Committee think the appropriation will necessitate a reduction in the Navy's enlisted personnel from 153,000 to 100,OCO, but it will permit of a continuation of building at the same rate as last year.
