The By-lavre Committee repoTted that the quotation of the- Christchurcfii. Press Company nt 16s x 3er page and 35s for the cover, was tho only .one received for re-printing hy-lair No. 4 ant! printing By-lav No. 5, and supplying 500 copies of the same. The committee recommended that the quotation be accepted. The Electricity Committee reported tiiiat the new connexions for the past fortnight numbered 126, which, was afc the rate of 250 per month, and was iho highest rate vet recorded. Quotations for aerial cable were- considered' "by the committee, and the lowest, that or" Messrs Wedderspoon and Co., at £2959 10s, -was accepted. The reporte were adopted. SEWERAG-E AREA. ! The special committee set up to con« j sider wnat steps should be_ taken to' bring about the amalgamation of the I functions of the Ohmtchurch Drainage Board with the City Council so far as tfhe sewerage area was concerned, reported that it had arranged with the chairman: of the I>rainago Board for the members of the committee to -wait upon the Board-afc its next meeting to discuss the matter. The report was adopted. • COLOMBO STREET* CROSSING. . Tho Works and Sanitary Committee i reported that the Colombo street railway crossing was in a dangerous condition, and another effort was being made to induce tho Railway Department and the Tramway Board to carry out repairs forthwith. "Tho Department and the Board had "been written to, pointing out tlhe danger to vehicular traffic and cyclists owing to the numerlous holes in the surface of tho roadway, and they had been informed that tlie Council irns prepared to carry out tho necessary repairs immediately, provided tho cost was defrayed by them. The portion of Colombo street lying north flnd south of the crossing was maintained Ly the Council and was in good order. Cr. Agar urged that representations Jbe made to 'the Tramway Board to improve the roadway between the tracks at the crossing.
