ALLEGED LIBEL
ACTION AGAINST NORTHCLITFE PEEBS. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable As-ociation ) (Received December 12th, 11 p.m.) LONDON, December 11. Mr J. B. Remer, a member of the Houso of Commons, has issued writs against three of the Northcliffe newspapers, "Daily Mail," "Evening News," and "Weekly Dispatch," and also against Lord Rothermere's "Daily Mirror" in connexion with the antiwaste attacks on members of the House of Commons. [A message published on Friday said: The "Daily Mail" and "Dailv Mirror" have been conducting a campaign against Government, expenditure. This has now taken tho form of publishing lists of all members of tho House of Commons who supported such estimates as the Ministry of Munitions and Ministry of. Shipping, describing; them as "wasters" and "wastrels," and suggesting that their constituents should keep an pye upon them. The "Da : ly Mirror" is publishing a special "squandermania" number with a portrait gallery of Ministers and members concerned,' together with an article by Lord Rothermero on "tho Government's so-called grandioso waste schemes.]
