ARRESTS IN AUCKLAND.
* EXTENSIVE SYSTEM OP THIEVING ALLEGED. * (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, November 6. Arrests were effected yesterday of seven men and a woman on charges of theft and receiving stolen goods. The arrests are the result of investigations made by tihe police following a complaint from the proprietor of a clothing establishment that goods had been missed from his shop. Early investigations involved the employees of a number of retail business establishments. Or the men arrested three were employed in a clothing establishment in Symonds ttreet, one in a similar establishment in Queen street, one in a boot retailer's shop in Queen street, one in a bu'tchery at Ivingslaiid. The woman is the wife of one of the men under arrest. It is .stated by the detectives that the charges are the result of t'he discovery of a widespread system of exchange of stolen goods. Accused appeared at the Police Court this morning, and were remanded until Friday.
