CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. j The commiitoe of the Canterbury Cricket i Association met "yoslerday. Present — Messrs W. Simpson, (.chair), B. B. Ward, C. S. Thonroson, W. H. Winsor, E. E. 1/ut- { treil, W. !»." King, A. E. Grant, and M. O. Sinclair. The chairman stated that at » mootingheld on October 4th, tho question of a coach had been considered, and it wa» recommended that Shacklock be engaged by tho Association for the eeason, 1920-21. It was suggested that tho schools bo divided into groups, each to provide a certain number of "boys to be coached up to 5.15 p.m., after which hour players from tho Boys' Le&£ru<* would be coached. It was recommended that tho Association provide two balls, and that each group bo aC.ko4- to provide three nairs'of pads and two b.Hs. JVfessrs D. Roeso, R. B. Word, C. W. AUard, and C. J. Golds toco were recommended as a subcommittee to assist the coach- Tho following tva3 the suggested grouping' of the schools, with tho grounds and nights of eoachin™: —West Christchurch, Elmwood, and Wharenui—lla-g'loy Park —Monday; St. Albans. Shirk--, and Kormal—Hagley Partv— Tuesday; Svdenham, and Becker> ham—Svdenham Park—Wednesday: Woolston, Waltham, and East Chmtchurelv—Lancaster Park—'Thursday; Technical—Technical Ground—Friday. The wimary schools wonld be asked to send five boys each. Tho report was adopted. The question of finance in connexion with the preparation of a playing field for iha Boys' lieigne was held over for consider*- | tion at a later mooting-. ; Correspondence was received from J& JF. Pcake, secretary of the Management Com- ! mjtteo of tho Zealand Crickot GounI ril, to the cffcct that he had cabled tho Mary-k-bono Club the cost of the proposed tour. He asked that the Association arrange for two-thirds of itfl guarantee to he available for remittance ai twenty-four hours' notice, as it was neoessary to cable fares to London. It was decided to reply that th© amounting question would be available when required. It was decided to Trnto to wcortaim bowmany country clubs intended to vjnfc vho city io play matches on Shaw Day, tito mattei; of allotting city teams to play against thorn beinar left in the hands of the Competitions Committee. Tho cocretaxy was instructed to write to the I/BJicaster Park "Board of Control asking that a wicket bo available on tho ground on. Thursday afternoons foi coaching' purposes.
