♦ COMMERCIAL CO-OPERATION. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and K.Z. Cablo Association.) WASHINGTON. October 7. Sir Auckland Geddes (British Ambassador), in a speech at a dinner in honour of the British Chambers of Coramerco representatives, said: "I bolie vo most strongly that, in epite of possible local diminutions of profit, commercial co-operation between the United States and Great Britain tvill pay us both best in the long run. No 'half-baked' Communists or military adventurers can long disturb the world if the Ifinglish-speakinE peoples stick together." He denied tho published reports that the British Government had resold to tho German Government a number of German ships with the object of hindering tho development of the American merchant marine.
