According to the Paris correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph," there is no truth in the statement that direct negotiations have been commenced between France and Germany, though it is true there have been conversations at Brussels to settle the problem of repari ations. There is no idea of France ! abandoning the Geneva Conference, though. M. Millcrand is likely to require more formal guarantees from Great Britain and the other Allies than he has thus far received before ha goes to Geneva.
