He pornti out that vast : orders for locomotives and other railway materials could be placed in Great Britain, also orders for engineering, machinery, tools, motor-lorries, electrical appliances, chemicals, medical supplies, and textiles. Apparently the Bolsheviks effort to finance a gold operation at Ecval failed. Tho Soviet no longer proposes to pav in gold, but promises produce ana poods, gold being merely deposited at Rfeval fc security for a loan from English banks. Only in the event of goods not being forthcoming m a year could the gold at Reval be employed This arrangement is not favoured by JMiglisn financiers. * AN UNSATISFACTORY NOTE. (Received October Bth, 8 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. The Bolshevik replv to the British Note is not wholly satisfactory. Though it offers to release British subjects upon conditions, scarcely any mention is made regarding tho ceasing o propaganda in Great Britain and Asia. Great Britain, therefore, is sen ding another Note, requiring a definite answer within ji time nnut.
