It is not anticipated that thero will be any serious objection to I this, and members generally are- sitq. j ous to see the session close by tho | first week in November. The Taxing Bill. The important Land and Income-tax t Bill is now being printed, and will bo introduced in tho Houso of Repitj. sentntives in a few days. Tho Bill will provide for a certain readjustment of taxation. In bobio I ca.ses taxation will be eased, and iu tj others it will be increased, the prin- « a eiplo adopted being to make tho burden "* generally more equitable. A Land Bill. The Land Bill to Iks dealt with during this session is nearly completed. It will modify some of the legislation at present in force, so as to make it easier { for ordinary settlers and soldier set- } tlors to get* on the land. The Bill will I not contain any departure from tho 1 freehold principle. On tho other hand thero may bo some extension of that principle. The Loan Bill. Tho Loan Bill is already in print, bnt it has not yet been finally revised by Cabinet. It contains tho clauses fare- I shadowed in regard to compulsion. Tho 1 compulsory clauses will, it is under- 1 stood, apply only to money required for f land for soldier settlement and war \: expenses. There will bo no compulsion in so far as loans for public works are f concerned. | s
