OBITUARY.
MR JOHN DOAK
Mr John Doak', who died at Ashburton on Thursday, in his 79th year, was a very well-known farmer of the \vakanui district, where he had resided for upwards of 40 years. Some years ago he retired from active farming operations, and came to live in Ashburton. During his stay in Wakanui he acted as an elder and treasurer of the Wakanui Presbyterian Church. He took no part in public affairs.
Mr Fred. Symes, formerly manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Foxton, died suddenlv on Tuesday, while on a visiJ to Auckland, aged 63 years. He is survived by Mra Symes and family. Mr Symes was a brother of Mr L. T. Symes, of St. Stephen's avenue, Parnell, manager of the Bank of Australasia.
