: NEW YORK, July 9. ■ The Peking correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that tho situation is growing serious as a result of contests between the _ militaristic ■ Anfu narty and the anti-miiit-jirisis. It is . understood that Anfus will send forces to Peking, and tho President may be imprisoned in the Palace. thought that fighting is now inevitable. Wealthy Chinese are moving their valuables to the foreign Legations, and taking refuge in foreign hotels mid hospitals. Others are fleeing to Tientsin. The Peking correspondent oi the "New York Times'; states that- the Cabinet reconstruction has been dclay- ' ed, since the Anfu Party is influencing members to stay away from 1 arlia- " ment-, thus making a quorum impossible.
