DEFAULTING JURORS FINED.

At the Waterford Assizes, Mr Justicc Gibson descanted bitterly when only nine jurors appeared out of seventyeight summoned, because the others had receivod notice threatening that their lives and property, and their women and children would not be protected in future by the law. "It makes my blood run cold," said Mr Justice Gibson. "It is horrible that any Irishman should bo so weak. The prisoners will remain in custody, and the guiltv will go unpunished." The Judge defined the jurors' default as a crime against God and man. He fined each grand juror £100,* the special jurors £25. and the petty jurors £10. There were also ICO petty jurors fined in the County Court. (United Serviced LONDON, July 7.
