THE BURDEN OP TAXATION. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and 2C.Z. Cablo Association.) LONDON, July 7. The Federation of British Industries, in a report on Government expenditure, states that the, country is hopelessly overtaxed. The Government, it declares, should ascertain the real taxable capacity of the nation, and frame its expenditure in accordance with it. The-growth of the Civil Service expenditure had been appalling, and the Treasury was unable to exercise the necessary financial control.
