HOCKEY.
LADIES' ASSOCIATION. At a meeting- of lady hockey players held lr.it night, to cnnsicl-rr a challenge from Poverty Bay to play for the Shield, it was reported that the sum of £120 was needed if Canterbury were to make the trip. It was decided that the trip ehould bo made, to prevent the Shield being forfeited, and a committee was set up to. siake a canvass for the noccssary funds.
