The chairman referred to the death of Mr John Glen, secretary of the Nelson Trotting Club and Nelson Jockey Club for many years, and, on liis motion, a vote of condclenco with his rjlativcs was passed. AN APPEAL CASE. I The chairman reported that an appeal had been lodged by B. Shadboit, owner of Roe Be**, against the decision of the Maaawatu Trotting Club, in dismissing his protest against A. Freeth's Ballin for galloping in the Palmcrston North Handioap at the club's recent, meeting. Tho case had been reheard by the'stewards, who had adhered to their previous decision. An appeal ha-d then been lodged. The Appeal Committee of the Association had considered the case, and decided that it was n question of fact, in which no appeal could lie. The Board upheld this ruling, and it was decided that tho appeal deposit should bo refunded in tho circumstances. CLUBS' REPORTS'.

Correspondence was received from the Auckland Trotting Club in reference to tho Hobson Handicap, at its Autumn Meeting, in which there had been complaints of interference, but, after enquiry, it had been ■ decided not to alter the judge's placings.
