Sir, —Mr Isitt has drawn attention to the fact, that, by levying duty on tho Homo consumption value of goods afc time shipped, instead of on the invoice value, tno Government is profiteering. Mr Isitt quite ignores the most important fact of the Government administrating the law as it stands, which law was made by Mr Isitt and members. This is not the only law which hits tho public hard at tho present time, and, to ny mind, simply proves how incapablo our jnembers really are when making tliem; they neither give the time nor take tho trouble to study them.—Yours, etc., DUTY.
