OBITUARY.

I MR T. S. CULLING. | (SPECIAL TO "THE PBESS.") 1 D'UNEDIN, May 28. Mr T. S. Culling, who died last nighl at Remnera (Auckland), was born at Lyttelton in 1353. He was educated at the Otago Boys' High-School, and became senior partner in the firm of Messrs R. Wilson and Co". He was elected to the St. Ivilda Council in 1892, and was Mayor of that borough for four years. He presented St. Kilda with the five-acre plot known as Culling Park. Mr Culling was the worthy son of a worthy father, who was in liis day a member of the firm of Coulls, Culling and Co., and a promoter of the Mataura paper-making industry. Our Dunedin correspondent records the death of Mr Jos. Mcl>iarmid, the Dominion's oldest bowler, aged 94. The late Mr William Erown, whoso death occurred at the Wellington Hospital this week as a' result of injuries received in a tram accident, was an old and respected citizen of Wellington, having been particularly well known in chess circles and as a life member of i the Wellington Working Men's Club.
