The ship's team waa at the disad- | vantage of not having had an opportunity 1. to practice together. Nevertheless the team made a credil-nblo showing, and the Bcoro j hardly represents the standard of theirplay. Thd match resulted in a win for the New Brighton Surf Club by 2 goals to 1. For I ths winners the 'scores wore made by R. ; Coulter and A. E. Summerficld; and br the 1 i ship's team Corporal Press shot a M>al at ! a rather awkward angle. On several occasions the Renown team spoiled their cha.noe3 of scoring by over-anxiety. ! The teams were:—H.M.S. Renown—Forj wards: Stoker Spiers, P.O. The "Flying Sonadron" race, which preceded the polo match, was won, after an exciting race, by the New Brighton Club's team.
