Some opposition was manifested. | The Government is considering a pro-! posal that all enemy property in the islands shall be liquidated, and the proceeds credited, in part, to the repara-: tion that Germany owes the Common-j wealth. | The Speaker, on behalf of the House of Representatives, and the President, on benalf of the Senate, at a gathering at Parliament House, presented the thanks of the Commonwealth to the Navy and Army for their services in the war to representatives of both forces.
