• REXOTVX BOYS EXTEHTAINEI). A social evening was given to tho boys u. tho crew of H.M.S. Renown at the Seamen * Institute on Thursday evening:. Jlefic&hments wero provided by tho Ashburtou brancli of tho British and Foreign Sailors' Society, and were dispensed by I>yttehoa ladiee. Musical items were given by Miss's J. 1., C-, and M. Hatchwell, M. Owens, M. Miller, and Clark, and dances by Miasms x»uist (four), M. Aitkin, H. Petrie. The bagpipe music for the Scotch dances was prodded by Piper S. R. Smith, of the Christchurch High Land Pipe Band. Beforo leaving; each boy was presented with a souvenir in the form of a book of views of Christchurch and a New Tostament.
