* INTER-VABSITY TOURNAMENT (PKES3 ASSOCIATION TELKGEAM.) VELLIXGTOX, April 7. There was good tennis v/eatlior for tho final matchcs of the inter-'Varsity tournament. Auckland won the contest, but did eo only after several koonly-fought matches. Tho outstanding feature of tho day was the final of the men's singles between Dr. Aliiaou (Ota,go) and E. E. Bartleet (Auckland). Their tennis was probafcly the finest yet seen in these tournaments. After a prolonged struggle Bartleet secured the match. Results: — Ladies' Doubles—Semi-final: Misses Archenhold and Willcox beat Misses Waldie and Fenton, 9-G. Final: IHsses Arcbenhold and AViilcox (Canterbury) beat Misses Day and Lynn (Ota-go), 9-6. Ladies' Singles—Final: Miss Knight (Auckland) beat Miss Fenton (Victoria College), 9-1. Men's Singles—Final: Bajtiect (Auckland) beat Allison (Otago), 8-6, -J-G, 7-5. Men's Doubles —Final: Allison and Gray (Otago) beat Salmond and Sims (Otago), 7-5, 6-3. Combined Doubles—Final: Miss Knicrhi.and Bartleet (Auckland) beat Miss Archenhoid and Abernetby (Canterbury), G-l, G-i
