There was a large attendance of clients of the Bank of Australasia at the Chamber of Commerce yesterday afternoon, when a presentation _ was made to Mr O. K. Sams, who is retiring on superannuation from the employ of the Bank, after 4o years of service, the last 25 years of which have been spent in Christchurcli as accountant. Mr F. ID. Jones presided, and read a lengthy budget of lettors from clients of the Bank, expressing great appreciation of the ability and courtesy of Mr Sams m his capacity as accountant to the Bank. Mr T. H. "Green eulogised the services of Mr Sams, and handed to him an inscribed silver casket, with a golden lining in the shane of a draft for £200, a list of the subscribers to the testimonial being also included, at the same time expressing the best wishes of the Bank's clients for Mr Sams's future prosperity. Mr W. H. Seed, Mr H. B. Sorensen, and the Mayor spoke highly of the abilitv and many excellent qualities of Mr Sams, who feelingly replied in a brief speech.
