As won as the ltoll of jjonour was unveiied the buglers sounded tlio general saluto, whilo companies presented arms. Colonel Cooper during the course of n short address, congratulated the officers, non-com-missioned oflicers, and men, upon their splendid turn out, and the excellence of mo work done that evening. Ho expressed himself as being greatly pleased that the Cadets had thought fit to place on record the services of their comrades who volunteered and went on servico overseas. He concluded by saving that the lads should guard and earn for their Roll of Honour, even with their verv lives. It was a boautlful tiling, worthy of being placed in tmy buildiug of note in the Dominion. He \va.>=, lis said, indeed proud of tlio New Brighton boys, and lie considered it a very great honour indeed to be asked to unveil the memorial. The "Deputy-Mayor, Mr C. Israelson, Ors. \V. Bellamy and J. Bissett, also spoke. Mr Isrnelson said he understood that New Brighton could claim that it had sent more of her sons to the front than any other borough in Now Zealand on a population basis. Ho regretted the nbscnco of the Mayor (Sir F. Kihblewhite), who was confined to his bed by illness.
