SCHOOL OF FORESTRY.
ESTABLISHMENT AT CANTERBURY COLLEGE. BEQUEST BY MR T. W. ADAMS. Included in tho bequests made by the late Mr T W. Adams, of Greendale, whose great interest in all matters pertaining to forestry is well known, is a devise of the land at Greendale upon which Mr Adams resided, about 98 acro3 in area, to the Board of Governors of Canterbury College, for the purpose of a School of Forestry to be maintained by tho Board. The gift is made, and a bequest of £2000 for tbe purpose of assisting the Board in establishing or maintaining tho School of Forestry is made subject to tho pnymont of an annuity out of the revenue of the homestead property to Mr Adams's widow, which is to be payable monthly. The will further provides that no trees now or horeafter growing on the property are to bo felled or destroyed except with the conscnt of the Professor of Biology for the timo being of Canterbury College, or with tho consent of the Professor of Forestrv when a school of forestry ia established. The management and control of the property and of tho buildings thereon is left to tho discretion of the Board* of Governors. The remainder of the lato Mr Adams's estate is, divided between the widow and tho membors of his family. The potato has been sworn at about £30.000.
