COAL SHORTAGE INFLUENCE. Sneaking of the arrival of the New Zealand, the Mayor, Dr. Thacker, 1 ,*♦ stated at last night's meeting of the City Council that he had that day received word from the officer commanding the warship to the following effect: Officers and men heartily reciprocate the greetings of the people of Chnstchurch. Regret it is impossible to state time of arrival in Christchurch at present, as it is possible that the coal crisis will affect the dhip's movements considerably. . .
