Indications of the existence of inI telligent life on Mars are provided in discoveries by a group of noted astronomers, now made public by Professor William Henry Pickering, brother ef the late Edward Pickering, the Har- . vard astronomer. ! Professor Pickering's report reveals the presence of polar ice, which melts in southern portions that are characterised by a brilliant red colouring and many indications of seasonal changes. ■ On the planet 131 canals have been I positively identified, as well as 14 lakes.
