TAINTED WHEAT.
ALLEGATIONS DENIED,

(Received May 11th. 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, May 10. Replying to the "Sun's" charges regarding the 191G-17 wheat, Mr Holman, in a statement, said that while the wheat had deteriorated to some 'extent, its freshness and wholesomeness was not affected. The talk that it was affected by mice and weevils was sensationmongering. The lower portions of the stack liad been affected by mice, but this wheat had not been used. Tha British Government had accepted flour containing 50 per cent, of this wheat. During the present week the Government had had test bakings made, and the analyst reported that the bread met all . the requirements of tho Pure Food Act.
