Belakun's note of surrender provoked such strong feeling against him, even in workmen's circles, that he was nearly lynched at a meeting of the Workmen's and Soldiers' Council. Tho Copenhagen correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" states that M. Belakun's army is deserting by divisions and joining the Roumanians, who arc within fifty kilometres of Budapest. M.. Belakun ha 3 issued a proclamation calling to the Colours those with military training. Others will be enrolled in training battalions, or employed in trench digging. Budapest has been declared a war area.
