LATE MR G. C. TOTHILL.
INQUEST FURTHER ADJOURNED.
The inquest on the late Sir G. .C. Tothill, who died as the result of injuries received through a collision between. a motor-car and a cart at the corner of Woodham road and Rolleston street, was resumed at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. Mr S. E. McCarthy, Coroner, presided. Mr F. W. Johnston appeared on behalf of Miss Ursula Tothill, Mr_H. O. D. Meares for the deceased's family, and Mr A. Lucas for Mr Bennett, the driver of the cart. Dr. A. B. Pearson described the injuries received by deceased. The bone in front of the chest and several ribs : were fractured. The heart covering was torn for a distance of about threa inches. The cause of death was rup- > ture of the heart. | At this stage Senior-Sergeant Cummings asked for a further adjournment in order to allow the police to make enquiries regarding a cyclist who was stated to be concrned in the accident.
