THE iI.G.C. THAii. (VROM OUS OWN COERESPONDENT.) liOMIJU.N, January i. There is a rather larj-o proposal that cricket teams representing JfJiUadclpiua, Greut Britain, Ausirtv.ia, Canada, India, south Atncu, and -New Zealand should take jiart in a greit cricket tournament at Philadelphia in the forthcoming summer. The iLC.C. has ratiiicd the proposed tour o£ (in Australian servicc team in Greiit Britain, hut the ±>oard of Control has to consider still further tho proposed visit of an Ki-gli.th team to Australm. next autumn. With regard to tho invitation from JNew Zealand that the JA.C.C. teum_ should visit the Dominion, tho "'Athletic Xews" says: -It has been intimated that the New Zealand authorities wouid bo glad for the teaiu which is to go to Australia, next autumn to play a series ot matches in the Dominion. There would, ot course, be nothing now in such an arrangement, many liriglish sides having carried through such a programme, i'ivo weeks would probably be sufficient to j allow games to be played against the four lor five leading provinces tvs well as three, matches—ot Clir;stchurch, "Wellington, and Aucklfiul—'.'i/aniflt the full strength of New Zealand. it the matter can be carriod through we trust tha.t all the game 3 will be plavod eleven a side, for cricket iu the Dominion is no longer in its infancy, and matches against odds arc never satisfactory from any point of view. Such .fixtures, one hopes, »T5 now quite a tiling of the past so far as English visits to Australia are concerned, bo there should be plenty of tirue to enable the tour to be extended to New Zealand."
