QUESTION: When Prohibition is carried on April 10th, will alcohol be procurable for medicinal purposes? Answer: Yee. Section 19, Snb-section 2, of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1918, states:— "Nothing in this section shall extend "or apply to the importation, manu- " facture, or sale, in accordance with "regulations made by the Governor- " General in Council in that behalf, of " intoxicating liquor for medicinal, scien- " tiflo y sacramental, or industrial purposes " exclusively." THE MINISTER OP HEALTH has in this connexion made the following statement:— "In the event of National Prohibition "being carried the Public Health Bepart"ment would have to carry stocks of alco- " ho) for medicinal purposes.
