THE GERMAN FLEET.
DISPOSAL TO BE LEFT TO PEACE CONFERENCE.
(By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright) (Reuter's Telegrams.) (Received March 3rd, 8.10 p.m.) •LONDON, February 27. , In the House of Lords, Lord Lytton, replying to a question regarding the disposal of the German Fleet, said it must be decided by "the Paris Conference. The proposal to sink, it would only be adopted if the representatives of the nations unanimously concluded that that was tho best course. The British attached the utmost importance to the view that the ships should not continue to form a part of any naval armament, or henceforth be used as ships of war. There remained three alternatives: (1) To sink the fchips, (2) To break them up, # (3) To sell them under certain conditions. It was simply and solely an economic proposition whether it would pay to Break them up or use the ships for I other purposes.
