FIRES.

At 2 p.m. yesterday the City Fire Biirratle received a call to i) 34 Stanmoio road, where a nine-roomed dwelling, owned and occupied by Mr \\ . Ghrystall, was on fire. The outbreak was soon extinguished, but not before a good deal ol ! damage had been done to oho hack portion of the premises. Ihe house is insured for £350 and the furniture for £300 in the State office. In the absence of Mr Crystall people removed n good deal of the furniture, and m this wav it suffered some damage. Shortly before 3 o'clock yesterday i afternoon a five-roomed wooden house, situated on the main road at Redcliffs, jvas noticod to be on fire. When dpcovered the flames had a fair hold. Redcliffs Fire Brigade, assisted by several workmen employed by the Sumner Borough Council, quickly got the water on and succeeded in extinguishin"- the outbreak, but not before the contents had been destroyed and the building gutted. The building was owned bv Mrs Dalton, and occupied by Mr Quinton and family, who happened to be away at the time.
