DEATH IX HOSPITAL. Mrs Ferguson, o" Darfield, whoy with her husband and baby, met with a motor-cycle accident on the Iti<jcarton road recently, and who was operated upon for a fractured leg, died at tho Christchurch Hospital early yesterday morning. An inquest will bo held at the Courthouse at 9.15 this morning. Yesterday morning an elderly man named Joshua Singleton, of 2 Balfour terrace, Sydenham, was knocked down by a motor-car while attempting to cross Montreal street. He received injuries to his right knee and left ankle, and was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. (PBESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAMS.) AUCKLAND., December 30. A youth named Alan Sherman has been missing frerm. the residence of his aunt, Mrs Smyth, Waitatere, since Thursday morning. He went out with a double-barrelled gun. Search parties were out on Saturday and yesterday. but found no trace of the boy. Clarence Lewis, twenty-eight, died at the hospital on Saturday night as the result of injuries he sustained on December 22nd through falling on a hay fork while harvesting. At the inquest on Flora Simpson, aged 48, a married daughter stated that her mother's second husband returned from the war on Christmas Eve. Two days later he went to witness's home ana said he had disagreed with his wife about her conduct. On Saturday witness found deceased snoring on a bed. She could not arouse her, and sent for a doctor, but no doctor arrived. She returned next morning- and found her mother dead in bed. The deceased had been drinking heavily. The post-mor-tem examination showed that there was hemorrhage of the brain,, which might have caused death. The hemorrrhage might have been brought on by a fall. The inquest was adjourned.
