".REVIEW" TO BE ISSUED. (SPECIAL TO "THE PRESS.") WELLINGTON. December 29. The Education Departmont will shortly commence the publication of a monthly "Gazette"' or "Review." It will bo the medium by which circulars And instructions will be conveyed to teachers by the Department from time to time Notes will . appear for the guidance of toachors. with a view to improving methods and schemes of work in the schools. These notes will deal also with such matters as the interpretation of tho syllabus prescribed, the organisation of schools, and the like. It is intended that there shall bo articles in the periodical by competent Authorities on subjects of interest to teachers and others concerned with tho education of the young. .Advice will be given to teachers as to books they should read in order to keen abreast of current educational thoiight. The "Review" is being brought out at the suggestion of tho Minister (the Hon. J. A. Hanan). It is intended that it shall Lo a Competitor with th 6 "Journal" of the'Teaohers' Institute, though it may on occasion denl with the same class of matter as is now dealt with in the "Journal."
