In political circles in Sydney jnst now there are many rumours in circulation, • writes tho Sydney correspondent of the Melbourne "Age" regarding the political future of Mr Holman. Having completed a record period of office as Premier, Mr Holman is apparently drawing towards the end of his political career. In an unguarded moment ho has 6aid so much, himself, though ho immediately hastened to explain away any significance the remark might have had for his auditors. Mr Holman has forfeited, the goodwill of a large number of his colleagues on the Ministerial sido of the House, and it is generally asserted that he will be shortly asked to resign the leadership of the party. The Premier's handling of the electoral reform question, his quarrels with the Press; his failure to introduce economies; his effort to introduce a Stamp Bill which would have imposed extra taxation, when the party was definitely committed not to impose extra taxation during the present year; his handling of tho meat question, and other matters, have produced great dissatisfaction from a party point of view. It is rumoured that Mr Holman is to be appointed Australian, Commissioner to the United, States. when Mr Braddon's six months of office; in New York ■ concludes. % '
