CASUALTIES.

INQUEST. An inquest was held at tho Courthouse yesterday, before Mr S. E. McCnrthv, Coroner, on the body of William Walsh, aged about 60 years, who died at 2D Vapues road on Tuesday afternoon. After hearing the- evidence tho Coroner returned a verdict that death was due to heart, failure consequent upon acute nephritis. (press association telegram.) WANGANUI. Deeombor 2G. William Janet, aged twelve years, was drowned while bathing in the river at Putiki to-day. Tho boy was seen to dive off a log, and he did not reappear.
