VON ECKHARDT'S RECALL FROM
MEXICO.

NEW YORK, December 22. The recall of von iL'ckhnrdt is regarded as th& death-blow to Germaninspired propaganda, and is the forerunner o! the dismissal from tiieir posts of all the German Consular officials who have used their official positions to promote iil-fcelina among Mexicans against the United States. It is probable- that all the t Gonnan newspapers will cease publishing after von Eckhardt's withdrawal. Without his financial aid it is unlikeiy that they will continue to appear. It is common talk that.von Eckhardt has been recalled at the direct instigation of the United States. He will l>o granted safe , conduct through the , jn , l , States if he desires to travel by that route. It is expected that he will leave within a few days.
