THE SUBMARINE WAR.

THE ENEMY HOAXED,

(By Cable. —Frees Association.—Copyright •. (Australian and K.£. Cable Association.) LONDON, December 21. It is stafed that the Admiralty made the Dover anti-submarine barrage effective by causing fictitious plans of Dover to fall into the enemy's hands, thus scaring the submarines away. What is now stated to be a hoax was stage-managed on a comprehonsivf scale and the so-called plans were found among the fictitious wreckage of a British warship cast ashore on the coast of Denmark, .whero a British agont in the guise of a pro-German neutral sold the plans for £7500. The Germans found the barrage scheme so formidable that submarines were thereafter ordered to avoid the Dover Straits.
