T While trying to avoid a tramcar at the corner of St. Asaph and Manchester streets,* yesterday, a cyclist named Alfred Harris was knocked down by a bread-cart'which ran over his legs. He suffered abrasions on the head and minor injuries to his lege, and was treated at the outpatients' department i at the Christchurch Hospital. (press association telegbam.) AUCKLAND, December 23. Albert Grant, three years of age, was suffocated by swallowing a large pebb.e, which lodged ill the gullet, compressing the windpipe.
