♦ — ; — LIWOOD SCHOOL COMMITTEE. At the last meeting of tho Linwood School Committee a motion of sympathy with tbo relatives of the late Mrs M. Erickeon, a. member of tha school staff, was carried in silence. • The headmaster reported that the. average attendance for the quarter was 635, and the roll number 716. Of the 04 Standard VI. pupils 51 gained proficiency, 12 competency certificates. A motion oi sympathy with all those who had suffered bereavement during the influenza epidemic was carried in silence. A resolution was also carried thanking Mr and Mrs Herbert, and all those who had assisted in fighting the influenza epidemic. A similar vote was passed to the headmaster and staff. It was decided to have the baths thoroughly cleaned out before the school re-opens. NAVY LEAGUE WAR FUND. He Navy League War Fund Appeal Committee met last evening-, Mr A. Boyle presiding. Business in connexion with the canvass for donations was transacted. It was anticipated that the appeal would realise £18,000.
