At the time of writing some British and Indian infantry forces had arrived. The troops everywhere were splendidly received by the population, who were overjoyed that the British had delivered them from the Turkish yoke. The Yeomanry and Indian cavalry entered Homs on October 15th, the Australian Flying Corps "having bombed the Turks, who fled after burning the railway buildings.
