Tho fortnightly mcotinc- of- the Akaroa Borough Council waß held on Wednesday. Present—The Mavov (ilr Goo. Arnutroug), Crs Huriro, Kerridpro, l\vfe. Lewitt, Lceie, Davis Williams, and Stewart. Mr Wm. Kearney, recently clocted to fill a vacancy on tho Council, made tho -usual declaration and took h:3 seat. Tho Xev? Plymouth Borough Council forwarded a circular the advisability of holding tho Municipal Ccnfcroncc this year. It was resolved thn: the time vras .n----opportune. The Works Coramitieo was authorised to ■ carry on; certain repairs to I'arr's bridge ?.i Jolio street. A Ion;; discussion took place respecting the proposal to pat a concrete rc-Uiininc wall on •she Beach road from the hoalsheds to the town boundary. On the motion of tb? llayor, it was resolved to proceed with the pb. Cr.'Kearney was- given a seat on "ae Wharves, Reserve?, and Baths Committee. The -finance report ehowed receipts £12 6s 6d, electric light account dr. £>2'.2 oa iCd, ■wharves account cr. £333 Ss 2d, general account cr. £98 12a Bd, overdrait Bank o£ Xew iiealajid £1779 15a .lid.
