WAR IN THE AIR.
ENEMY MINE-SWEEPERS BOMBED.

The Admiralty reports:— "Aircraft heavily bombed minesweepers off Zeebrugge. They also observed a German destroyer wliicli was sunk eight miles north-westward of Zeebrugge, probably by a British amine."
SIR DOUGLAS HAIG'S REPORT,
(Received August 12th, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, Aijgust 11 (11.30 p.m.). Sir Douglas Haig's aviation report states:— "During intense air fighting on August 10th we destroyed 41 machines and drove down 20 uncontrollable. Twelve of ours are missing. We dropped 23J tons of bombs in the daytime and 31 tons, principally on bridges and stations in the Somme valley, during the night-time.
"Hie amount of small arms ammunition fired from the air upon tho - etreating enemy broke all recent records. We brought down two nightbombers, one being a giant German machine with five engines and carrying a heavy load of bombs. Antiaircraft guns brought down two others recently."
THE AIR MINISTRY REPORT. (Received August 12th, 7.40 p.m.)' LONDON, August 11. The 'Air Ministry' reports: "Our squadrons on the morning of August 11th attacked a railway station at Karlsruhe and an aerodrome. Clouds hindered observation, but bombs were . seen to hit the station, causing an explosion. We drove down three uncontrollable. One of outs was brought down under control.''
