Dr. Henry S. Belaud, who was i«cently released from imprisonment i n Germany, was formerly PostmasterGeneral of Canada, and is still a member of the House of Commons, to which, ho was returned unopposed at the last general .election. He had married just before the outbreak of the war, and was on his honeymoon in Bolgium when the German invasion took place. He could have escaped, but he stayed to help the Belgian and German wounded, and was taken prisoner. His wife dietf some months ago. It was only after repeated efforts on the part of the Imperial and Dominion Governments that his release has been effected.
