OBITUARY.
—.—* | Private advice has been received that ! Mr Erl Williams, of Mamuku, Master- | ton, who left for England in the early ■ stages of the war, and ■ was for some i time connected with the Flying Corps and motor service, has died from influenza and pneumonia. Deceased was the youngest son of Mrs T. C. Williams, Wellington, and left a widow (daughter of Mr C. F. Vallance) and three children. The Rev. F. G. Buckingham, a retired Baptist minister, died on Monday at Tamaki, Auckland. Mr Buckingham came to New Zealand about 14 years ago from Ip.-rwich, Queensland, where he hbld ■ the Baptist pastorate. Previously he had been minister of the South Melbourne Baptist Church. In this country he held successively the Baptist charges at Nolson, Oamaru, and Thames, retiring from the latter church about four and a-half years ago. Mr , Buckingham about twelve years ago : married Miss Peters, a missionary from India, by whom he is survived. . A well-known figure in Dunedin and amongst bowlers will be missed by the unexpected and sudden death of Mr C. T. Paterson. The deceased was the son of Captain Paterson, Dunedin (formerly jof Hobart, Tasmania). He leaves two ! sisters to mourn his loss —Mrs W. Dind, of Sydney, and Mrs R. J. Barrett, of Dunedin.
