THE TIMBRELL CARNATION CUP.
THE EDITOR OT "iHB PRESS/' Siif,—l feel I must reply to Mr • Clark's letter on above subject.. which appeared in your issue of 13tn inst., more particularly as he has mis-quoted the schedule which caused so much trouble. The schedule which I have in in; possession reads: Twelve vases of carnations, distinct varieties, Picotees, .Perpetual, Bizarre, and Fancy included, three bloomß in each; not, as he states, three blooms of each. This is quite a different matter, and clearly indicates that Mr Clark, even at this late hour fails to correctly interpret the schedule. I would also remind him that when the cap was first wou no bizarre was shown, and that last year the. ambiguity in the schedule was also pointed out to the official of the Society. Mr Clark's reference to Mr Bailey comes in very bad tasto after the Horticultural Society having specially asked him to arbitrate in the dispute. I trust good may result from this dispute, and that in future schedules # will be drawn up in a| manner admitting of no mistake. —Yours, etc., JOHN ROGERS. Spreydon, July 18th.
