Sir Douglas Hnig reports: — "Wo repulsed a second attempt to raid our positions south-east of Mesnil. "Wo carried out a successful raid in the neighbourhood of Hebuterne, inflicting heavy casualties and taking prisoners." A French communique states: — "There was violent artillery activity in the region of Hilles, Rouvroy, and Plemrat; also great patrol activity on the entire Ailotte front."
